In the 1970s and possibly '80s, the Mill House was owned by a Mr. Kevin Hitchcock, who ran a company building rotating speakers ("the Sharma Speaker", named after his children, Sharon and Mark) for electric organs.

Around the mid-'80s (we think), the grounds of the house, and the Mill, were sold to a property developer, and half-a-dozen houses built on a new road, Sharma Leas.

In the '90s, the Mill House was an antique shop, owned by G.Smith and Sons, until retirement caused its sale in 2002.
